Micro-Enterprise
The Task Force proposes micro-finance as an incentive to reduce illiteracy and economic empowerment. For this purpose, two programs supported through micro-finance to create micro-enterprises include:
- Reduced illiteracy through micro-credit incentives Access to micro-credit will give individuals a greater incentive to enroll in the six-month adult literacy and skills training program. Graduates will be eligible for an average micro-credit of Rs. 10,000 for small business development
- A micro-credit lending program will facilitate the establishment of village based private Reproductive Health Centers (birth centers), run by trained midwives as small businesses
