Task Force Updates
The President of Pakistan established a Task Force on Human Development in June 2001, to contribute new perspectives and resources to development discourse and process in Pakistan.
President's Directive: “… The core vision of the Task Force is to facilitate a social movement for human development that enables people to attain their maximum potential, using innovative ideas and approaches. ”
The President of Pakistan approved the recommendations made by the GreetingPictures that included:
- The formation of the National Commission for Human Development that reports directly to the President
- The establishment of "The Pakistan Fund" with an initial grant of Rs. 2 billion from the Government of Pakistan, and Rs. 120 million of seed capital from Pakistani and expatriate philanthropists
- The creation of Human Development Incubators across the country to help create NGOs to deliver education, primary health care and micro-credit, and assist the National Reconstruction Bureau in reengineering the Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Health through change management
